Piedmont College has recognized students from the 2015 Spring Semester who were selected as Dean's Scholars and named to the Dean's List. Students named as Dean's Scholars have earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the semester, and students named to the Dean's List have earned a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.99.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Dr. Bonita C. Jacobs, president of the University of North Georgia (UNG), recognized more than 1,000 students for their academic performance during fall semester 2014 by naming them to the President's List and President's Honor Roll.

More than 1,800 students made the fall 2014 Dean's Lists at the University of North Georgia (UNG) for achieving a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

Dr. Bonita C. Jacobs, president of the University of North Georgia (UNG), recognized more than 1,000 students for their academic performance during spring semester 2014. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average and who had no grade lower than B, were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement, were named to the President's List.

More than 1,600 students made the spring 2014 Dean's Lists at the University of North Georgia (UNG) for achieving a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

This semester, UNG conferred a total of 1,445 degrees, including 603 associate, 718 bachelor's degrees, and 124 graduate degrees. UNG also awarded 10 one-year certificates for work in specialty areas. Additionally, 33 graduating members of the Corps of Cadets took oaths as second lieutenants in the National Guard or U.S. Army; commissioning ceremonies also were held separately on May 9. The university's spring commencement ceremonies were held May 9-10 on UNG's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses.

To be eligible for the President's List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester. Valdosta State University has announced the names of students from Spring 2014 who have earned the academic status of Dean's List. Students who achieve a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher on nine (9) or more semester hours with an institutional (VSU) GPA of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List.
